They may seem the same, but in reality they are different.

Your talent comes from your ability to perform a task. Or, to show aptitude for something. In other words, being talented consists of the ability to perform an action efficiently and naturally. A talent can be developed through training and practice. It can be considered a reflection of your intelligence, whether cognitive (intellectual) or emotional.

Does talent say a lot about who we are and how we deal with emotions?

On the other hand, gift means performing something efficiently and skilfully. It comes with us. It is born with us. A gift is the innate ability to do something with excellence, even in circumstances that are difficult for other people.

They seem like two similar concepts, but a gift cannot be learned. It only exists in its innate form. Talent can be developed or improved. We often talk about talents rather than gifts. A gift is an incredible ability that we are born with, which can be perfected through training, dedication and discipline, reaching a higher level. One may have a powerful voice to become a singer or the right sensitivity to be a painter, etc. Every human being in the world has a specific gift that may or may not be revealed during their lifetime. Even that possibility does not always happen.

It is possible that you have a gift and do not yet know it. Or it may be that you have a gift, know it, but have not yet given it the prominence it deserves.

Is that so?

To demystify this very important issue, it is essential to know yourself deeply. It may seem strange to think that you do not know yourself and do not know who you are. However, this lack of inner wisdom may or may not be real, and it is more common than you might think.

To overcome this potential issue, there is a practice, or rather an art, called self-awareness. Successfully accomplishing this task is neither easy nor quick, but it is worth it. Once you understand your thoughts, actions, and reactions in depth, it is easier to be a stable and better person, both personally and professionally. The practice of this activity is one of the main results and consequences of coaching processes. The method can transform a person's life in a positive way, as self-awareness is among the many techniques and tools used during sessions, and the one that appears to be most useful in processes of change.

Self-awareness promotes understanding of your weaknesses, i.e., those that deserve more attention, as they are generally saboteurs. It also allows you to strengthen your strengths and even discover new ones that may be hidden.

As a result of the process of transformation and change, you may discover your gift or gifts. More than simply pointing them out or becoming aware of them, self-knowledge allows for persistent evolution.
