Financial literacy refers to a combination of financial awareness, knowledge, skills, attitudes, and behaviours necessary to make sound financial decisions and ultimately achieve individual financial wellbeing.
Low levels of knowledge about financial concepts lead to:

Financial illiteracy is more common among low-income individuals.
